Why do we care?

Why do we care so much? When most times we end up hurting?
Is it becuase we hope to one day be the lucky one? To be happy??
What is happiness anyway? Is it that we have everything we want, or is it that we can smile and feel content even though our life is a mess??
I believe that true happiness comes from Jesus. He is the constant in my storms, he never gives up on him and he always loves me. Even though His way isn't always the way I want to travel, His is always what's best for me.
He is like the father that will never leave, and who knows everything.

Not sure if I'll keep writing in this blogg...

Why advent??

Why do we celebrate advent??
We are waiting for Christs birth and most important his second comming.
This year I have been thinking a lot on Christmas and Christmas songs. We read in interjuvs kids answer to the big Christmas question. Why do we celebrate Christmas. Earlier it has amazed me that so many doesn't know why. This year I have realized that there is so many Christmas songs that's only about Christmas. Not the why. More and more the old rich Christmas songs are missing from new Christmas albums. Still there is enough in a way, but each year I believe that they will occur less and less. It's a way for the world to help everyone forget the Christmas gosphel and embrace Christmas as a time of giving and recieving.

In this time of waiting my eyes has been opened in a new way. I've always known that we are waiting to celebrate the birth of Christ. But I have never really thought of the fact that we really are waiting for the second comming. His return.
Lights are one of the good things about this time. The darkness outside is less threathing when I get to light every candel I have (well almost). It makes this a cozy time rather than a fearful time. Everything looks different in the darkness, more serious, frightning and everything has to be over and done with. You worry a lot more and so on. But when you turn on a light it takes some of your thoughts away as well. In this time I truly understand why Christ is the Light.

I discoverd this year as I unpacked my Christmas decorations that I do have a lot of santas and those kinds of decorations. Not because I really like them, but because they have been presents from different people over the times. So I guess this season I will have to buy some of my own decorations when the sale starts ;) I've managed all this years without them, so one more year woun't hurt.
One of my favorite things to do as soon as the first Sunday in Advent appear is to find my Bethlehem decoration. It's the reason I love this season. To celebrate that Jesus came to earth in a human form, to be tested in all the things we are tested in. In some ways even worse than we are.
And the first of December my adventcalender is up and full of small presents. I try not to put candy in there, nor lot of cheap junk. But not expencive things either. Sometime I put things the kids need, or small things they want. Some things I get I open up and divide before wrapping them in Christmas paper.
It was a good thought this year that for each present, each passing day we get closer to his comming. Not just the Christmas celebration. I have to admit that I have been afraid of his comming, afraid that it will be very soon. There is still things I want to do, and people I hope will see Christ light. But in the end God is the only one who knows. If he wants Christ to return now, there is nothing I can do about that. Maybe the only thing is to make sure that I am as ready as I can be. Live my life the way he wants it to be. I do find that hard. Hard to hear his voice, hard to find time to read. I did find something online the other day that I truly found fantastic. It's a site that has like a million different reading plans for the Bible. I just started one that is called Rediscovering the Christmas Season. And I absolutly love it! I hope this can help me read and discover a great many things in the Bible:  Here is the site!

Then some of the other great things of this season. Jack Frost....

Till next time,
God Bless
